Heat termal suggest

 

  • If possible avoid getting out or doing physical activity during the hottest hours of the day (usually between 12 and 17pm)
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun
  • Increase your intake of soft drinks (at least one and a half, to be increased in case of physical activity). Older people should drink even if in the absence of thirst
  • Eat lots of fruits and vegetables
  • Have a good breakfast and light meals, especially lunch
  • Wear light clothing with light colors, natural fibers and no tight dress
  • Baths or showers with warm water
  • Spend more time in air-conditioned environments, particularly suggested to the elderly
  • Open the windows at home only during the night and cover them during the daylight with tents; only use fans to circulate air (do not direct them on the body)
  • Do not take mineral supplements without consulting your doctor, especially in the case of persons affecting by chronic or acute pathology. In addition, mineral supplement could have negative interaction both medications and disease
  • Do not leave children (under 5 years) alone, especially in the car and give them to drink frequently
  • In case of heat waves, elderly, disabled, bedridden, chronically ill and mentally ill should be monitored more frequently
  • If you are suffering by chronic diseases with continuous intake of medication, consult your family doctor to possibly changes the therapy
